Well you told us they were eaten by sharks, if you were lying about that, we've no reason to believe the rest, so I say none of them have ever been alive.

A plan crashes into a river. 6 people were aboard the plane. When it crashed all six people survived, then 5 were eaten by sharks. How many are left alive?
Who knows, there is not information here.

5 may have been eaten by sharks but how much of them had been eaten? If the shark only ate a leg say the person might have survived.

People allways say, "sharks ARE in rivers", well, I have never met one.
Well, I've never met a panda in China, but I'm fairly confident they exist. The dangers of relying on personal experience...

the attack in Matawan marks the furthest inland shark attack in recorded history. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jersey_...ttacks_of_1916

Check Australian Geographic for a report on bullsharks in the rivers in Brisbane. There are also species of sharks that live in lakes. Plus, it may have been at the river mouth, which is where a number of species will come to feed.

Why don't sharks attack lawyers?

Why don't sharks attack lawyers? Professional courtesy.

Ok I have an old one.

You have a single match when you walk into a very cold dark room. Infront of you--you have a single wax candle, an oil lamp and a wood burning stove. Which would you light first?

The captain's room of a ship? I really don't know...

The match.
You answered your own riddle, that you did. And only 3 minutes lapsed between your riddle and the answer.

That's what I assumed the "correct" answer to be, but thought better. After all, international mail does not necessarily go around the world. Plus, if you want to be pedantic, "go around the world" could imply circumnavigation, which I'm pretty sure your average letter does not do.

Maybe the loser guy in the space shuttle?

wasn't the original question fro an old film - so old it was in black and white.

I cannot remember the name of it but it was very English (stiff upper lip stuff) set ina Boarding school when a pupil ask the teacher a question.

" sir. How high is a chinaman?"

This rather weak joke is played out for a good several minutes.
