Default jaw problem...
I don't know where is the exact problem, but in the middle of a keiko with a 7Dan sensei (really tough btw), in a collision with him I feel that almost dislocated my jaw, the right joint, like it dislocated and re-located inmediately. I had a little pain after that, but it seems to remain sensible or something because last weekend I had a training and feel the pain in the exact location (right joint) after a collision.

What would be? Is my men bad tied? or do I need a chin protector like the one that sell ebogu.com

Greetings.

I'm not sure if it matters or not, but how long have you worn bogu? If for a long time, has that ever happened before? If it hasn't, maybe you just injured your jaw when colliding with him, since it hurt again later in the same spot after colliding with the sensei. Maybe get it checked by your doctor? That might be a really good idea if you collided with him and he accidentally got your jaw. Stuff just happens sometimes. Otherwise, I haven't any idea about tying the men. Sorry... Someone else will have to help you with that part.

Does it still hurt without the men on?

I hope it feels better soon if it still hurts.

Is your sensei Irish? If so it's just his way of saying he likes you.

You'll probably be fine in a few days. If not ask your sensei to hit the other side of your jaw to try and even you out a bit. I'm sure he'll oblige

But seriously, have your sensei look at how you tie your men and see what he thinks. He'll be the most able to help you. If your jaw is in serious pain see a doc.

Not a serious pain... only a few hours the first time (a month ago), and less than a hour last weekend. He is not my sensei, but a japanese sensei who was in that seminair.

I dont think either that could be the tie, maybe just careless because he accidentaly got my jaw, because he has a lot of power.

If you collided with him and you had your mouth open, with such bad luck that he punched your jaw in a frontal motion, 1st... you should raise your arms, 2nd you can have some kind of injury on the neck of the mandible, (I think you don´t because it HURTS) but if the pain is going away you´ll be just fine. In case you want a professional opinion, I´d suggest you a dentist instead of a regular medic. It´d be wise to check the size of your MEN and how does it fit you, I recently had some situations alike and ended up changing the way I tie my MEN and put my tenogui to compensate the size of the MEN.

I had the mouth open because I was saying "meeeeeen", but the pain goes away quickly (the first time the pain remains 2 days and insignificant gradually fading).

Thanks for the advice.
