If the founding fathers had known about this talk about changing everything they probably would've made a rule that none of rules can be changed. They gave the future generations the benefit of the doubt however and we should live up to their trust.
If they had done that then there would be no freedom of speech(1st), you would still have slavery(13th) and women wouldn't be able to vote(19th)! etc, etc, etc.

In fact if you think about it if the founding fathers were alive today they would be the most right wing people alive. As some of them were slave owners you're probably right!

Since they would also be nailed into coffins, they wouldn't give us any troubles.

Japan is going to start fingerprinting and taking pictures of any foreign national who steps foot on their soil, starting in 3 weeks. This has been in the works for some time now. . .
The U.S. already has that law for people coming in from visa waiver countries. I think in October all visa waiver countries will be required to issue biometric passports.

There has been some talk on other threads about a certain captain of a certain national kendo team coming into the U.S. on several occasions in spite of a rape conviction. This is designed to prevent such happenings.

Ah the wonderful world of catch22. We do it and it violates the rights of some. We don't do it and it violates the safety of others.

They specifically and intentionally left christianity out of it. Go read up on Thomas Jefferson. I believe God was mentioned in the pledge of allegiance..............yeah maybe you should recite the pledge of allegiance from now and then, clear your head of unpatriotic thoughts.

This may or may not be news to you but God isn't exclusive to Christianity.

I know about the America situation, but I think Japans motives for having these checks are far more sinister.

Well, I was fingerprinted going to America last month, next time I go back to Japan I will be fingerprinted, so what....

As for not standing up for kimigayo, teachers not standing up for their national anthem at school events is bad manners regardless of their politcal beliefs and so bad role modelling (even in Australia where our anthem is painful on the ears).

As for the teachers, its not the national anthem that bothers them, but the direction that education is this country is being pushed it and who is in control.

"god" was added to the pledge of allegiance in the 1950's because of the cold war.The word god does not appear anywhere in the constitution or the bill of rights.
I notice that in the U.S. the people who talk the loudest about "patriotism" and question other's "patriotism have never stood in harm's way.

i highly doubt my backyard would be their first priority, and yes God isn't exclusively Christian, but come on, every single President has been a Christian, do u actually believe they're referring to Islam or something? I dont think so

god (i refuse to capitalize the g) is an entity. he/she/it is buddah, allah, shiba, and all the other names i cant remember how to spell. god created man? no, man created god. hell, in the pledge of allegence were devoting ourselves to a colorfull piece of cloth.

(yes i know my spelling and grammar are terrible.)

There is a group of philosophers known as the solipsists who believe that since you are not directly aware of your environment or the minds of others, you cannot prove the existence of other people. Therefore, to solipsists, other people don't exist.
Somehow, they manage to have meetings...

The sooner we get rid of countries and flags and patriotism and religion the better off we will all be.
Alas we are tied to our primate heritage. we like being in gangs, groups, clans etc. has allowed us to survive and prosper this far. I wonder how much longer we will continue?

50,000 years of humanity and still we have these things....probably stuck with them.
Depends on your view of the word "humanity". Could be anywhere from 1 million years of humanity - homo erectus and his ilk - to....well...... never.

Ah the wonderful world of catch22. We do it and it violates the rights of some. We don't do it and it violates the safety of others.
Liked this observation a lot. Posrep to you

No, god is not "exclusively Christian" but this phrase denotes the idea of God from a christian perspective.
many other perspectives denote God as meaning absolutely everything (including US presidents) - this would imply we are all god/part of god.
