I find myself siding with Monsieur Voltaire again. ![]() The issue is that everyone has lines they will not cross in terms of diet, these lines are cultural. Nothing more. In the UK we won't eat horses. Middle east, pigs are a no no. Me, I'm a slowly recovering vegetarian, I was completely veggie, now eat fish. I expect next year I won't be veggie at all as I'm moving to a farm etc (already covered that). I'm under no illusions of how strange it is to say you're veggie and yet eat fish. That's up to me, but for the sake of ease, if someone offers me a hot dog I'd say no thanks I'm a vegetarian. If it was fish and chips I'd say great, love some thanks. Tell someone you're a piscatarian and they look at you like you're weird, so for me at least it's just a simple short hand. I'm quite happy to admit I'm not a real vegetarian anymore. Similar cultural issues go alongside animal experimentation too, and human fertilization study also. Mike |
