Default Your Occupation
This hasn't bee asked since 2003, and it would be very interesting to see the trends here. I am personally in a sales and marketing role dealing with data and trends/statistics, so right up my alley. Students aside, the question is "What is your occupation?" No preconceived notions here, I'll let the data speak for itself.

Interesting that you say that.
I just wrote a white paper mathematically proving that very fact.

You misspelled "lying".

No, I'm not bitter - why do you ask?

Yes well, I tell people that I'm in sales, which is marginally a step up in evolution from marketing...

Hmmm . . . I'm an analyst for an engineering firm, but I'm not an engineer.

I work with xyz values, but I'm not a programmer.

I love the field I'm in, but sometimes I wish I was in the office.

I work with numbers, but I'm not an accountant or statistician.

And I love my coffee breaks and my doughnuts.

What am I?

Confused perhaps?
Y'know . . . I spend most days in that state of mind, so I'd say that's pretty darn close!

Yeah, but that's just a prerequisite for the job... RevCan would be auditing us every year if that were in our job title...
