Clearly, a high post count and rep indicate intellect of unsurpassed quality and a vastly superior moral authority, combined with beauty to make the angels weep.
lol . . . makes it sound like lowly folks such as myself show our appreciation and affection by throwing rocks, grunting, and smashing things with clubs.

Actually, come to think of it . . .

I am living proof that you, Neil, despite your grade and seniority, don't have a clue what you're talking about...

Maybe I should have expressed that sentiment in a way you peons are more likely to understand: suck it, bitches.

I have to come clean here - I had to ask Urban Dictionary for some help.

I think that etymology is a little suspect, but the sentiment is correct.

Hmmm if I actually cared about my avatar...........but I dont Obviously some posts are relevant while at other times things do go off the tracks a little........( personally I always have my default blame setting set to 'Kenzan"" ) But I really dont see any problem with how things are now.
All my posts are relevant.

Even the ones which I say are not relevant, are, in fact, when scrutinized by experts:
Relevant.

I have a certificate which says so.

I am awash with the tide of relevance!

Yea, it is through these very veins that flows the mighty, swirling lifeblood of relevance!

Let us dance the dance of relevance!

~To gulp thirstily from the bosoms of the relevance goddess!

As such, I climb to the highest peak, and proclaim the religion of Relevance to
be the ONE TRUE FAITH!

So you see, without me, you'd all be at the mercy of European sensibilities and humor.

Because dictionary.com doesn't have this or this. God on a stick, indeed.

We felt the same way about 'WKRP in Cincinnati'.

Both post count and 'rep' gives some people a sense of superiority (whether they will admit it or not) and really should be removed.
Fair enough, give an indication that someone has just joined (fixed avatar?), so that other newcomers can more easily filter the information, but apart from that, I think any other kind of outward showing of 'seniority' should be removed...but then, if I was king, I'd also moderate the discussions a lot more and most of the stuff in the lounge (including threads like this!) would be deleted.
What a gentle soul.

Trust me, many of us american felt that way about that show. It was unequivocally about sanford and son.

Well, thanks to these forums I have got to be able to meet people in the flesh at competitions etc and know who they were, and in fact some people from back home who do Kendo too and i didn't know before. One of the forumites here will be joining our Team for the London Cup (we met here) and I have even got news from people now living overseas. It has dramatically increased the amount of people I can me talk Kendo (and shite too) over a pint when in foreign lands so I would say a high success rate in that regard.

I am not sure this a Kendo clinic or just a wiki, is a community of people sharing interests.

In terms of rep or post counts they do not represent the knowledge someone has (necessarily), same for rep and personality, the nice people and the corrosive ones get rep on equal ammounts anyway.

Bttom line is, i know who i respect in the forum and who deserves it too, and is not for us to tell the moderators what to do

Oh, King, eh? Oh, very nice... And how'd you get that, eh? By exploiting the workers! By hanging on to outdated imperialist dogma which perpetuates the economic and social differences in our society! If there's ever gonna be any progress in our society...
