From a work viewpoint, it is not about ignorance but limiting the damage. If someone has an unwarranted hissy fit in my office, it is not automatically something that I would report. Because it is not worth it, since it means escalating something with someone who don't play by the rules.

You are right of course ....nothing will change these people. And Gibson is a complete bigot.

But actually you are tolerating and condoning it, just saying you aren't don't cut I'm afraid. And if you don't care why submit two posts? Of course you care...well at least enough to submit two posts. Guess who listened at Psychology class?

The "pampered individuals" only get their way because we allow it. If we stop allowing it they won't - it is a simple concept adopted by a certain person famous in New York called Rudi Guliani.

So you don't care? This is the language of those who are so self centred or childish.

No not indignant just informed. Whole world of difference. stop being a tw8t and you will see that.

Oh and "weather"? oh my...your parents must be proud.

And yes Bono is a complete sychophant. But at least he tries to do the right thing. Better that than look the other way which is what you purport.

okay...am putting soapbox away now before this gets a little too tetchy...

My my, someone has got their head up their arse haven't they?

First of all, no, I really don't care. Not at all. But I would be pleased to know how this makes me self centered and childish. What did you psychology class tell you about that? I'm all ears.

And picking up on spelling mistakes? Bravo, that must make you feel really big and important. Well done. No, really, well done. I'm sure you psychology teacher would have a field day with that.

If Bono did anything while NOT dressed like a "rock star", perhaps I could take it him seriously. I'd prefer to look at the actions of others who don't go feel the need to dress like they are going on stage to pick up an award when they attend what it is they choose to. That alone suggests that he treats these things as much of a publicity tool as he does an action for good. Just because I don't loudly go about declaring what I do, and dressing like a festival dancer while doing it, doesn't mean I "look the other way".

And I'm not tolerating and condoning Bale's outburst, I am ignoring it. Hence the "who gives a shit?" originally. But please feel free to continue telling me what I am REALLY doing, I enjoy it. I submitted one in vague interest on the subject of people taking an over active interest in the lives of these Hollywood nutjobs (one of society's less enjoyable traits, for me at least, and the actual point that I care enough about to post on) and then the second to tell you I disagree with something. And note how I still, really, don't give a shit.

Tw8t indeed. Feel free to pick up on my spelling again too. I'm sure you will enjoy yourself and feel very big about yourself while doing so. Maybe I've chucked a couple in here to make you feel superior when you find them. And having an opinion doesn't make you informed, it means you have just that, on opinion. But I'm sure you will have more to say. Feel free, I'm sure your parents are proud too.

Oh, And I still don't give a shit. About Bale that is. Or what he says. But go on, tell me I do.

You guys only have half the story. Bale already nicely and courteously asked the DP to not fiddle with his lights in the middle of a scene. You don't just snap out of nowhere. The DP is in the wrong here and was being completely disrespectful and unprofessional. You just can't do that crap on set. Sure, Bale was over the top but he has grounds for being so annoyed. If they were using film, I'd be surprised if the DP wasn't fired then and there. When you become a distraction to anyone on the set, you don't belong there.

I had read about that actually. Apparently he was walking around during the shot too, or something like that anyway. I guess it doesn't take much to distract these fella's...heh. Maybe poor old CB has the attention span of a 2 year old? Or the concentration of one? "Oh look, candy!" Ha.

The best thing is that this didn't happen last week, it was a while back now, some months at least. What I'd like to know is why it came out now and not back when it actually happened....? Conspiracy theorists will probably say something like "nothing like a bit of advance pre-launch publicity", but I'm sure we'd have to be cycnical to think like that....

Yet another reason for me not to give a shit. It didn't matter enough 6 months ago to even be on the internet...but now it's big news. What was the release date again...?

hey, many thanks for the invitation; okay then I will take you up on it. If you don't mind.

Actually, I wasn't that bothered either way. I just felt that you were ripe for teasing so I went for it. And boy do you do the 'hook, line and sinker' routine. Yes, I did disagree with bits of what you said (I Know, I know...how dare I ?) but I also agreed with some of it too.

Please accept my apologies for pointing out your flaws and lack of education - it really was most impolite of me.

For the record, I wasn't meaning to call you a "tw@t", just saying that you were coming across as one. There is a clear distinction between the two concepts. It wasn't intended as an insult per se, but if you have taken it as such please accept my apologies.

I think Bono comes across as a bit of an arse at times but that doesn't mean he is one.

Oh and one final thing...someone who labels himself as 'the great I am' giving sententious lessons in humility??? Just priceless.

I didn't know this and maybe it does justify his reaction to a large degree. Still not sure about repeatedly threatening to "kick his arse"!. Perhaps with hindsight he should have actually re-set all the lights anyway as he threatened to do. That would have been a more appropriate response. Childish and silly perhaps - but appropriate.

I disagree. Messing with the DoP[e]'s lights would be unprofessional. Throwing a tantrum may seem inappropriate, but it's likely to get the job done [the job of taking the DoP to task for screwing up repeatedly] without wasting any more time.

And while screaming at somebody like that is assaholic, it's a giant step away from physical assault (ie, hitting someone with a telephone). I wouldn't rate that rant as "terroristic threatening" either (which is a felony offense in most states). Just a dude blowing his top at another dude.

Ah yes, nothing like the "educated" to tell us what it's all about. It's a good job I don't take myself as seriously as you obviously do, otherwise I'd have to top myself, or write a letter to the Daily Mail.

stop being a tw8t Seems fairly obvious what your meaning here was. Nice Apology. *sigh*

Prick.

Interesting points but maybe I didn't explain part of what I wrote previously too well.

By 'messing with the lights' I wouldn't wish to suggest that Mr Bale do anything dangerous - just re-adjust the settings on the control panels perhaps so that the lights work at different times. Nothing more than a prank really that happens quite a lot on sets (so I have read with Mr Clooney being quite 'adept'). Of course the best solution would be to ignore the culprit and complain to the director of whoever his line manager is.

Personally, I think ranting at a colleague like that is incredibly unprofessional - I would be dismissed from my work if I did that.

"Terroristic threatening" - yes I agree that is too strong a phrase but in the UK it would be deemed as bullying and there is a strong drive here at the moment to stamp out bullying - not just in schools but in the workplace too.

For my information, what does constitute "terroristic threatening" to make it a "felony"?

very well educated thank you.

(for reasons that are obvious to any person who didn't skip school too often)
You obviously like the whole "Look at me, I'm very intelligent and educated" line" don't you. Very nice for you. I'm sure it makes you feel very superior while not at all appearing arrogant at all, oh no. You should be an MP, you must be a hoot at parties.

Actually I'm quite quiet generally. Quite different to you I'm told..I think 'boorish' is the word most often used.

Not superior really but I have now deduced that I am superior to you. Thanks for confirming this.

What have MP's done to cause you to use them as an insult? Whilst I have to work with them and find them a complete pain at times, the vast majority do try to do the best job they can. Obviously they are just an easy target and they are the only ones you feel you can pick on. How brave!

And yes I am a great laugh at parties.

Now, why don't we both move on from this silly name calling malarky.

Its' up to you but, for me, this 'conversation' is now at a close.

That is truly wonderful for you, really, but I would much rather be me than you.

Toodle-oo Is that it? Just when I was beginning to enjoy it as well, though this last one is, I must say, a little less of the quality of your last posts. Shame you started to run out of ideas, so much for that "education".

Bye bye!

For the record, I agreed with you; disagreed with you; baited you. Don't like it? Fine.
But I did apologise. Once tongue in cheek (for reasons that are obvious to any person who didn't skip school too often) and once genuinely.
This is starting to read like Crazy Phils writings.

IANAL, but essentially "terroristic threatening" occurs when someone threatens to kill or injure another person. The severity of the crime depends on the situation: distance between the victim and the perp, if the perp has threatened the victim on more than one occasion with the same intent, if the perp has a visible weapon, if the victim is "emergency personnel" or similar, etc.

One of my jodo teachers is a cop, and he indicated that there are a lot of factors that lead to an arrest for "terroristic threatening." If someone is just talking smack, even loud annoying smack, such as CB was doing, and the cops were there, they'd probably give him a verbal warning, if he didn't take heed, they'd probably arrest him for "disturbing the peace."

However, whenever there's a weapon involved, even if it's unconventional (a brick, a piece of pipe, a hammer), it would be clearly over the line. If the perp was threatening the victim with purpose (I think there was some element of coercion they were looking for) it'd be clearly over the line.

Addendum: I'm sure it varies from state to state (definition of "terroristic threatening," as well as severity of the crime). Some states may be more or less strict, and penalties may be very different. Most laws seem to be that way. Castle doctrine being prime example. Gun laws, etc. Back home was open carry was legal, may still be, and I think concealed carry may still be legal without a permit. Here in Hawai'i you have to register every firearm, can't technically stop off at the gas station to or from the hunting grounds with firearm in vehicle, can't transport firearms for any other reason, etc.
