This is truly a loss. Aside from what MMA has become this man made a real contribution to the Budo world. He took what he learned and adapted to the situation proving that technique can beat shear strength. He will be missed.

Indeed this is truly a loss. He spent his life well and he helped many under him. I know he will be missed. R.I.P

RIP, Seņor Gracie.

BTW: I'm not a follower of MMA... but is it his grandson or grandsons that are currently fighting???

I'm not sure if any of the Gracies are actively competing in MMA type stuff anymore, but I confess I don't follow it closely. I know that the new generation of fighters are more broadly trained than the Gracies are. They are still active with their school of course.
