Just got home from watching the mighty Falcons run over the top of the ferals. Very pleased with the way we have been running games out this season, some of EP's "star" big men started to look very tired towards the end. We just have to make sure we capitalize on our great start this season instead of capitulating like we did at this time last season.
Perth looking like a different side this year. Today's game was a bit of a soft one but in years gone by it's the sort of game they would of probably lost. Souths very impressed with their win today I'm not sure how SD played but to win out at Basso is always a very good effort. I think it's wrong to say SD are completely gone but they are in dire straits and at best will only just scrape into the finals now, and even that is unlikely it seems. I think they do have a premiership hangover but I also think people (including me) underestimated the effect of losing Krakouer, and to a lesser extent Casserley. They would of lost the GF by 5 goals or more last year if it wasn't for Krakouer. As far as going back to back goes they've got no chance. |

Swans are flat & rooted.... 0-4 with that list is very suprising. I think Perth will give them some problems on Anzac Day too. Lets not forget the Demons beat them last year when they were actually around their peak, so getting them when they are down will be tough again for SD.
East Perth much the same as last year. The loss to Souths a few weeks ago I knew would haunt them. CL & WP to follow up after that (and the Nth Ballarat game) is taking its toll already. I still think they could be 5-4 or possibly 6-3 leading into the foundation day derby next time, but they must find some cohesion. Not all lost but the catch up senario is exactly what they would have wanted to avoid... Not so in 2011 again. Subi bloody unlucky.... That was a hell of an effort, and sides like Claremont just know how to win at any stage. WHEN IS THIS FARKING HEAT GOING TO DIE OFF !!! SOMETHING LIKE 35 DEGREES YESTERDAY AND ITS BLOODY ROUND 5 ! .... Nothing worse than going to the shadeless Joondy and baking like a spud. This heat is having an effect on crowds I have no doubt. The seasons have changed from 30 years ago I have no doubt. The season should start a few weeks later and finish mid-October imo. |

Because of our high profile recruits, many people were tipping the Royals to finish in the higher reaches of the Premiership Table. T'is a pity games aren't won on paper. The Coaches of all grades (all flogged) are going to have to create a big turnaround and soon or 2011 will be history. We will struggle (as usual) to beat soobie on Friday. Oh and Garlic Muncher made a real dick of himself confronting the East Perth Coaches in their box after the game. There is something seriously wrong with that clown. |

Macs, I think we could be in trouble against Subi.... We simply dont play anywhere near 4 quarters atm and the depth in the reserves isnt as great as we think.
Also if we do get back on track the club needs to consider that Foxtel Cup game in Darwin. The heat all clubs have endured this year is phenomenal and having another humidity hit up there will kill the players. Not to mention Good Friday where it was reported it will be another 30 degree day !! The club must give the WAFL season the priority. If things were different I wouldnt be saying it, but the fact is we are chasing tails again already. Our defence missing Pickering and Webster has been under-valued. And Pettifer needs to understand he is not totally responsible for the whole forward line. He seems to put too much pressure on himself. If the side is kicking goals and he isnt, then its not all bad. He can have a value down there doing one-percenters. We are missing those one-percenters around the attacking area and more players need to get smarter. |
