Hi guys,
I'm so sorry I haven't been able to respond to all your advice sooner. This is because my mum and little bro have needed all my time and support and there problems are my problems at the end of the day. I did read all your feedback on my lazy attempts at meditation more or less straight away and often contemplated on this and I think now is the time for action. After I have sent this post I will meditate in the correct way NOW. Please believe me when I say your time and effort on me hasn't fallen on deaf ears and I truly appreciate it. ![]() |

I meditated ' properly ' for the first time and I think it has given me the insight I needed. I think this thread has become very self indulgent on my part and that's not good for me or this community. I have tried to practice selflessness with my family so much I have forgotten to apply it here of all places. I came here looking for other like minded people I could learn from
and discuss things nobody else would care to talk about, but maybe through lack of confidence I've started to rely on others to hold my hand and show me the way, when I should take responsability for myself and be my own guide. I hope now I can give back to this community as much as it has given to me. PS: Please don't respond to this thread as it will defeat the object ![]() |

Hi Jin Zen, you can use this Sutta for guidance on mindfulness:

Hi Aloka-D, Jin Zen,
I was trying to do mindfulness too, and found that The Four Foundations of Mindfulness (Satipatthana-sutta) was useful as a guidance on how-to go about doing that exactly. 4 frames of mindfulness are, body, feelings, mind, mental objects. Anyway, look up the Sutta. And I use the noting 'I have sense desire in me', 'I have passion' in me when doing mindfulness and finding that I have sense desires or cravings. |
