What age is that for a human child?
In the United States it's 18.

I see nothing wrong with birth control. The reality is that we are not in control at all on whether the Universe creates a new life. So, to think that in any way we are at fault or doing wrong by using birth control, I find silly. Our opinions over fate and the Universe don't matter.

I personally am against abortion. To me, it's murder. I believe it is a living creature. But, again, we aren't really in control over if it will or will not be "alive".
HOWEVER, I can not sit by in good conscience and demand or tell another how to live their life or what choices to make. Good or bad, it is their's to make. They will pay the price for their actions, in one way or another. All I can do, and all I am expected, is to be there to love them regardless.

Just as a matter of clarification - the morning after pill is not an abortion pill. If an egg has already been fertilized it will not end a pregnancy. It's kind of like taking a big dose of "the pill"

Just out of interest how long does it take for an egg to become fertilized after encountering a sperm?
Interesting to wonder about that, what 'l' would have been have not that particular sperm done the job, maybe another sperm would have produced a better me.

That somewhat depends on where in the cycle the female is I believe. But it can be anywhere from almost immediately to a week later!

I don't know. However long it takes a sperm to travel up a fallopian tube I guess... so if it happened like that the morning after pill wouldn't work.

Now it's hard to say where that falls on the scale of morality - I'm sure the answer varies from person to person. But on a practical level the morning after pill is the same as the regular birth control pill as it prevents the sperm and egg from ever coming together in the first place. A lot of activist types paint is as an abortion pill (which I don't even believe is legal in the US) when it's not. It's a pet peeve of mine.
Mostly because it prevents people from using it - due either to their own misconception or because some pharmacist won't dispense it.

And on a scale of morality I personally believe that if a girl has a situation - be it a drunken mistake, a rape, a broken condom or whatever - where she fears she could make a child that she knows she does not want and cannot take care of the lesser evil would be to make sure that child is not conceived rather than condemn that child and herself to a difficult existence. (and yes I know there is the adoption option - but that's not as easy as one might think, either)
