Default Dhamma definitions
MN 7

Well proclaimed by the Blessed One is the Dhamma
1 - Realizable here and now
2 - Possessed of immediate result
3 - Bidding you come and see
4 - Accessible and knowable individually by the wise

-----------------------------
Thai buddhist pray above in daily living.
-----------------------------

I like "Possessed of immediate result". This make me think of my teacher words. "If no progress in each quarter, there was something wrong in our practice."

For anyone wishing to do research on these terms directly from the Pali, here is a line from the Samiddhi Sutta:

Sandiṭṭhiko ayaṃ dhammo akāliko ehipassiko opaneyyiko paccattaṃ veditabbo viññūhī"ti.

"...Dhamma is visible here-&-now, not subject to time, inviting all to come & see, pertinent, to be known by the wise for themselves."

---

visible here and now: Sandiṭṭhiko
not subject to time: akāliko
come and see: ehipassiko

Thanks, Sobeh.

For anyone wishing to do research on these terms
During practice, if we found something. If that could follow above definition, that is dhamma.

Sometime we come but not see. We may understand dhamma but could not follow. This still not yet see dhamma. This mean we still need practice.
