As a 1997 graduate of the Landmark Forum, I completely altered my life, moving from Butte, Montana to Tulsa, Oklahoma to complete the Introduction Leader's Program. I spent 5+ years as a Dallas Center Staff Member, holding almost every position including Center Manager. I loved leading intros and the Self Expression and Leadership Program. Then, overnight, I was faced with a health challenge. That challenge sent me back to Montana to be near family while I recuperated.
In May 2010, I started to feel well again. In August 2011, I was declared well by my doctors, after declaring myself well! I have triumphed over a chronic illness that was 'supposed to' leave me disabled for life. I took on being well as a life style as well as a mind set. There is no medical explanation for my recovery. And now, with my health restored and my stamina expanding, I am creating LIFE 2.0. It is possible to create our lives, in the face of any circumstances. As of 10 days ago, I took the great step and now proudly "Occupy Home and Life" with an energy that I never expected. I am humbled that I have been gifted this way, and I am certain that the distinctions of transformation are the driving force and support for my new life. Where can you take on creating your own Life 2.0? |

The last few weeks have left me feeling how do I go forward into my life with a terminal disease, but doing well after a stem cell transplant. Year #1: was tough at the beginning, but kept getting better as the months went by. Year #2: I am ridding myself of the toxicity of others and other things that were part of life before. Its a new way of thinking and of living.....it looks like we are somewhat on the same brain waves as we both move forward!!

I remember a conversation I had with someone about why bad things happen to good people .. why do some people get cancer and die, why are children born with severe disabilities. Our conversation was inspired by a young man who had developmental disabilities and wanted things in life that others would never expect him to be able to get. He said, "I get to play with the deck I got dealt. I have what I have and you have what you have." He was able to take life on its own terms AND play the 'hand' on his terms. That young man inspires me to this day.
I really have experienced becoming well ... just as I am and just as I am not .. and just because I say so. Thanks, Tricia, for taking on the same. And best health to you. |

As far as I can tell, all the most exciting and inspiring people in the world overcame something tremendous. Of course, there are many people faced with something tremendous who do not become exciting and inspiring. Faced with the same circumstances, some people can make themselves huge, and others can keep playing small - Cathy and Tricia, so great to hear you're taking the exciting and inspiring rout!
