No real suprises, but any reason why Schumacher is no.7 and Rosberg no.8? Surely Rosberg has earned the title of first driver after this season.

Looks like we're finally shot of the BMW Sauber name, what a horrible, horrible name that was. Glad to see Renault and Team Lotus in there, although I worry that might change...

Hopefully the newly crowned DTM Champion - Paul DiResta will finally get a seat.

my centiments exactly.

I also have a question; will Virgin still be registered as British, or will they be down as Russin for next year?

Schumacher likes odd numbers and Rosberg probably doesn't give a sh*t.

Yawn... let it go for petes sake, teams come and go and names change even when the team dosen't. BMW's time in F1 was OK, not stellar but not disastereous by a long way...

Had the Parent BMW Group not shifted it's core goal to more eco-freindly image BMW, I have no doubt would have been stronger than their final year showed.

As for Sauber, BMW had no say in keeping the name that was the FIA, I sure BMW would have prefered to see the name dropped once they departed just as much as Sauber wanted it.

Anyway... back on topic, Is the published list meant also to be the car number each driver will race, The FIA I am guessing only go by what the teams submit. The list also has Jenson #3 and Lewis #4.

So what have we got left

RENAULT: 1 seat
Cant see it being anyone other than Vitaly Petrov to be honest

WILLIAMS: 1 seat
The longer it goes on, the more I think it'll be Pastor Maldonado

FORCE INDIA: 2 seats
Not really sure about who'll get one of them but im fairly confident the other will be Paul di Resta

TORO ROSSO: 2 seats
Seeing they have Buemi and Alguersuari under contract for 2011 im suprised they left both entries blank, maybe Mateschitz is having 2nd thoughts on one of them (probably Buemi)

HRT: 2 seats
Drivers I think at the moment are the last thing on their mind, wondering wether they'll even be on the grid is more important for them in my view.

MARUSSIA VIRGIN: 2 seats
Timo Glock I think is a shoe in for the lead seat but I think the new shareholders Marussia will probably want a Russian driver in the 2nd car and that makes me lean towards Mikhail Aleshin (the 2010 Renault World Series champ) getting the seat.

Force India could be Nico Hulkenberg.

Sutil... an established driver for sure, but a top driver... really?

What's the hold up with the Williams-Maldonado deal? Maybe Adrian Sutil with some Medion money thrown in?

I am hoping there will be some movement after all, something like:

Sutil to Renault... I would rather see him at Williams, though, but it seems hard to imagine that Maldonado won't get that seat, given Williams' sponsor maelstrom, which was pretty much the only reason they got rid of Hülkenberg.

Petrov to Marussia. Seems like a perfect fit in so many ways.

Hülkenberg and di Resta at Force India - that would be a cracking line-up. Goodbye, Liuzzi!

Alguersuari and Ricciardo at Toro Rosso. Or Buëmi and Ricciardo at Toro Rosso! But RICCIARDO at Toro Rossssssooooooo!! Darn it!!

HRT? Anybody's guess, and I agree, they have shown no signs of being alive next season, no word on progress on a new car (which is why they wanted to buy the Toyota - if they can't foot the bill for the Toyotas even with their heralded new Spanish investor, it doesn't bode well for their survival...). I would LIKE to see Klien back there, perhaps alongside Senna.

That leaves 2 other pretty talked about names rideless... Heidfeld (yet again!) and Chandhok, who seems to have quite a few people in F1 who want him to race next year. Maybe one of them can pull a surprise and end up in a race seat after all... I would imagine that Chandhok at least is on the short list for HRT. Heidfeld has to be on everybody's short list, but he always seems to come up... short. Maybe he should shave!

Nah, he only needs a better manager.

i remember last year that toro rosso had their drive pretty well confirmed but when the entry list came out, they had two vacant seats like this year.

unfortunately there doesnt seem to be many other driver swaps happening this year as no one from a bigger seat is moving and vacating space for another driver

Yeah, seems like those Webber to Ferrari, Massa to Renault, Schumacher to retire, Heidfeld/Hülkenberg to Mercedes, & Kimi to RedBull rumors have finally died down... too bad!

Sutil has never shown anything that makes him "top". Journeyman (at that stage) Fisi had better results at Force India when they were competitive.

I'm with you there. Sure, he's shown some speed occasionally, but to me, Sutil is the second most consistently overhyped driver in F1. I think we all know who #1 is in that department!
