As we all know LOO 333J was the RS1600 campaigned by Roy Fidler in 1971 with the usual support from Withers of Winsford. If Hammy Hannah changed his entry to a RS1800 could it have been to the car from whence the original registration came ? In the early 80s I bought a mark 1 rolling shell purported to have been LOO 333J from Hammy Hannah by a roundabout route. The car came with reg BTR12 and the VIN No. SERVICE 180 Was this a common form of VIN plate for ex works cars ?

I used this car on the Southbound Rally in Derbyshire at that time and was last recorded finisher. A remarkable achievement considering I had rebuilt the car using stainless steel nuts and bolts which shook loose very quickly and I spent most of the event putting bits back on that had fallen off.
