Because it sounds completely derivative and dull?

Yeah, fan reaction and the reviews seem pretty split on this one.

I think this song is sampling Hung Up's sampling of Abba.

OH yes. Yes yes yes. This song is really good.

And I totally hear what sounds like "Hung Up" in there.

I really fucking love this song. The banjo is really terrific. This album certainly goes out with a bang. Those last 4 tracks are all aces in my ears.

I really love this song a lot. It's very radio-friendly! I think it would make for a great single!

ETA: Looking at my initial comment based on the clip, I am now laughing at myself.

I think this is my favorite track from the album. I can't believe it was originally a bonus track!

It doesn't feel just like an Orbit/Madonna retread but presents something new in terms of what I've heard from past collaborations. The fact that she used Hung Up's chord structure (along with the sample on the chorus) seems to suggest a future tour mashup.

Ooh I didn't notice about the Hung Up reference, I'll have to listen more closely. At first I thought the song was just ok, but now that I've listened to it, it strikes me as having wonderful promise.

I think this song might be my favorite thing she's done in years. I can't stop listening to it.

Lyrically the song is surprisingly arresting. I love the analogy of needing a greedy former lover (many reviews suggest Guy’s divorce settlement) to take and spend you like they took and spent your money. I think it's one of the albums most satisfying thematic moments. Madonna’s voice shines here and that banjo adds an acoustic, organic quality to the song that I think is pretty essential. I can't wait to hear the acoustic version that comes with the iTunes preorder.

I feel that it's the best song on the album.

Really?! I don't see it on the tracklist on iTunes.

You had to pre-order the album between Feb. 3rd and 6th to get it. It's called the Super Bowl Edition. I'm sure it will be circulating, though.

Best track on the album as far as I'm concerned... I love the shift halfway through and the way they placed those cymbal-like beats/smashes/whathaveyou.

WTF was I thinking. Upon first listen, I wasn't really all that impressed. It's definitely become one of my favorites. It kinda has a Robyn/Ã…hlund feel to it.. it's a good thing.

Default Love Spent
I figured since we may eventually have an individual thread for each new song anyway, that we may as well start them with the Perez previews.

So we'll finally get a taste of another William Orbit song tomorrow. We'll see how it sounds!

This is fantastic! I don't know why she released such bland tracks in advance of the album with gems like this and I'm Addicted on the album.

Ahhhhh nice to have you back, Mr. Orbit! It's dancier than anything on Ray of Light, but her vocals sound produced the way they should be.

She finally sounds like the Madonna I love, too.
