Default Man Thing or Not?
It's not a man thing, I hate trucks and many men here do.

It's mostly a big, bad, overcompensating American thing.

I've never felt any desire to drive a truck.

Must be a Yank thing.

Thats bout it just to drive back and forth to work but i always liked trucks. It helps when ur moving and hauling stuff since u cant fit that in ur car and u dont want to rent one. But for some reason tuber has to drive when we are together, didnt know if it was the truck or what.

Tuber has been in Texas too long. Breathed the air, drank the water... bought a truck.

I like smaller cars, b/c I like being close to the ground, and their nimbleness. Good gas mileage doesn't hurt either. However there have been days when I needed a truck.

You cant use its a texan thing since tuber is from utah,
so tell me do men really want to drive a truck and is it in their genes or what?

A pic of our truck: I've always looked at it as compensation, especially the guys driving jacked-up trucks with a huge lift that makes them completely impractical for doing anything. Even in TX I'd say the percentage of truck owners who actually have a legitimate reason for owning a truck is small..probably very similar for Hummer/SUV owners, of course.

I drive a truck for many reasons:

A-Im a bigger person, it affords comfortable ride and workplace environment

B-I am all over parts of 6 counties, the occasion may arise for me to take something to one of my many facilities

C-I keep some tools and testing equipment with me

D-The truck rides higher and am off road on construction sites so a car would be out of question

E-I may need to carry several contractors to check out a jobsite

F-I carry a mobile office..i.e. laptop, pertinent files, documentation folders..ect. to be able to work all day in field if necessary

I enjoy a pickup over a car also due to being up higher and a better view

we actually get good gas mileage on the toyota bout 24 to the gallon. We dont haul anything on a regular basis but have had the need in the past for a truck to pick up appliances, move, and drop things off that dont fit in a car. I have moved from a suv to the truck so in a sense its not really that different excpet the amount of room inside the vehicle. I dont think its a man thing but like i said the docs at my work swear on it.

Chicks in trucks

I got rid of my truck, which I loved, but wifey didn't like toting Josie around in it. It was hard to get groceries and and one car seat in it, and now we have two car seats and it would have been even harder. I now have a 5.7 mile commute, and I drive a 2001 grand prix.

Wifey now drives this:
