Is it common to have to beg an Orthodox priest to chrismate a serious catechumen? This is a serious question.

The catacuminate proses itself can easterly last a year or more until the priest feels that you are ready to be received.

I am shore one of the Fathers can explain more fully.

Each person is a different individual and it is for the priest preparing the person for baptism/chrismation to assess when that person should be received.
