But seriously, wasn't he the first telegenic president? He beat Nixon by looking more presidential (calm, cool & collected as opposed to sweaty & nervous) in the debates, right? Actually, he won because of dead people voting Democratic in Chicago.

As Dis points out, he was a good, but not great President.

He brought a vigor to the White House and a pride to the nation that wouldn't be seen again until the Reagan Administration. It was he who chose to send us to the Moon.

His blunders in the Bay of Pigs fiasco and at the Vienna Summit led to the Soviet recklessness of placing nukes in Cuba...which gave JFK a chance to redeem himself (by risking nuclear war )

He and LBJ teamed up to push through the greated civil rights legislation since Reconstruction.
