at least he's finally dead, W00T. Took us long enough though, and I agree, the fight isn't over, it might get worse, but America has killed a bad man, 'nough said.

I'm sorry, but did Al Qaeda already lose? Oh, that’s right. The war isn’t even over yet. In fact, it’s only halftime. Does not having the lead at halftime count as a loss? Is that what you’re saying? Because if you’re saying that I can assure you that you’re wrong. Why would you make this topic when the war is still on? Al Qaeda is plotting their revenge right now and they have been the best terrorist group in the Middle East for how many years now? They’re fighting one of the worst administration in the history of the United States who just happen to have a lead because they’re feeding off the energy of killing Gadhafi's grandson. But you know what? They still ****ing suck. Al Qaeda is one of the best ****ing terrorist organizations in the world, they went 13-3 last year and would of bombed Times Square if the bomber didn’t choke. You know why? Because you’re going to be embarrassed when Al Qaeda wins and someone bumps this topic. Oh look at that, Obama just ****ed up his speech, just like George Bush did.
Sorry, I disagree with much that you have posted.

Consider the fact that the USA has been eliminating lower echelon leaders of Alqueda left and right
Consider that a large part of Alqueda was committed to largescale "protect the egg".
Alqueda did not want Bin Laden to get killed.
Yes, by default a new person will step into the lead role in Alqueda
We will likely know who that person is and will likely have a lot of info about him from the start point.

Also consider that in the last 6 months we have had dramatic political upheavals across the middle east (egypt, lybia, syria, yemen). In almost all of these cases the political unrest has been generated by the younger, more open-minded, tech-savvy generation. Of course the danger is that the current authoritarian regime would be toppled and the ensuing idealistic and democratic regime would then be able to be influenced by "Alqueda". Given that possibility I would rather have Alqueda busy either [a) choosing a new leader] or [b) doing omg retaliation time] instead of quietly trying to pull strings to get bad guys in power in countries that are switching their government.

Consider that Alqueda has been the boogyman for a decade now. After devastating their ranks we have killed their leader.

And we did not do it from a instantaneous unmanned drone hit. we put american boots to the ground and owned his ass hard, man-to-man. We sent in our best to do exactly what they were trained for. good call Obama.

Alqueda cannot "win" because they are a resistance organization and we are a country. IMO the whole idea of going to war against a concept "war on drugs, war on terrorism" is beyond stupid. This is a man in charge of an organization who was responsible for a travesty. he got him and we will continue to hound his organizations.

It is pretty instrumental that this event occurred before the proposed July 2011 Afghanistan drawdown timetable goes into effect. That is close to perfect timing imo.

When you refer to the Obama administration as one of the worst in history are you referring to the administration in general or their military strategies specifically? Are you pretty sure you know what you are talking about?

I would say Boom roasted, but that seems a little too cliche right now.

USA! USA! USA! USA!

Finally, that guy was long over due for death.

...freaking anti-christ.
*coughs*perpetuatingthecycle*coughs*

This is a good/bad thing. On one hand, Osama is dead. On the other, the cycle of Christianity and Islam pushing each other continues and his death does nothing to end that.

The amount of hate religion breeds is disturbing.

Does this mean the value of Osama's baseball card will go up in value now? I sure hope so! ^.^

Calling it now that this starts a war or terrorist attacks.
well I'm sure that they didn't expect him to get away forever. it's like saying we kill all your people and no harm done, but we kill your leader and we're the jerks.

This is way too fishy, especially with some recent rumors of smuggled nukes to be exploded if Osama were killed.

I hope all these people who are so happy Bin Laden is dead soon realize that this changes nothing. Ayman Muhammad Rabaie al-Zawahiri is still alive and the acting leader of al-Qaeda. The day to day operations of their group and others like them are not going to change. The wars in the middle east are not magically over because a middle aged muslim with failing kidneys is dead. US Troops are still going to be getting shot at in the morning. This country is still going to be at war with people who are willing to send every available man, woman and child at their disposal at their enemies with whatever weapons they can get their hands on. 2,996 people are still dead from the attacks on 9/11 and we are still in a war WE CAN NOT WIN.

It's just a little odd, to me, to celebrate someone's death - I can't help feel a little solemn. Reminds me a lot of the pictures of extremists taking to the streets in celebration, after the 9/11 attacks. I think a lot of the celebration must be feigned, like, when was the last time you actually thought about Osama before Monday? I can't remember, I didn't really care about him a huge deal - well not for years anyway. Ding dong, the witch is dead.

Last week. Seriously. I was talking about it at work. I said I thought he was dead and it was a shame because we could get a lot of great intel out of him alive. But what happened this week was infinitely better.
