Looks like Mayor Nagin is getting it right this time. He is doing what he should have done last time but failed to do. Although FEMA was blamed last time, the real blame lay with the City and the State for not acting fast enough or taking the warning seriously last time. This time Nagin is calling for evacuations and the state has mobilized the National guard and FEMA is helping. That is the way it should have happened last time but the local and state govt of LA dropped the ball and then blamed it on Bush who was not at fault.

News reports today say that 1 million have already evacuated.. guess they got smarter.
