Greets!

Just noticed I have received 228 thanks from you generous people. To celebrate, I offer you this... a pictorial exaultation of my favorite handgun of all time: the incredible Sig Sauer P228! Available ONLY in 9mm, you have to handle and shoot it to truly understand.

Bow before it, mere mortals... WE ARE NOT WORTHY!!!

Your gun is a tool to destroy. Do you celebrate destruction? Do you wish to use your toy gun in a real world scenario to kill someone?

Should we not celebrate something better? I don't suggest throwing your gun, but perhaps that you don't need to shoot it at people. I know it seems silly.

Your number is up, whenever it is up. Your use of violence will not save you. It will damn for sure be effective, but it will not save you.

Just my thoughts, and I am well armed.

Thank you for your thoughts.

I find a certain mechanical "beauty" in firearms. I find the lines and forms of many guns aesthetically pleasing, particularly Italian and German guns. As for "celebrating" an instrument of destruction, I see it as simply a tool... and being the tool loving sapient being that I am, I guess yeah... it's a celebration of sorts. I don't have any sort of guilty feelings about liking firearms, I just like them.

As for celebrating any destruction they might do to another human being, DEFINATELY NOT!!! I hate the initiation of coercive physical force above ALL other human activities... I see it as the only TRUE vice. If a gun is used, then by DEFINITION somebody had to initiate the coercive physical force, and it will likely end up being a VERY bad day for all concerned!

Nice pistol. 9MM is a little light though. When I was with the sheriff's office, one of the young deputies got depressed over a love affair that had gone bad. He pulled out his Glock 9MM and shot himself through the roof of his mouth. Funny thing - there was NO exit wound! I was carrying a Glock 21 - .45 caliber. There's a pistol that has stopping power.

Note for Mouse: The idea is NOT to use a weapon as a tool of aggression. Rather, one is to be used like insurance: You have insurance expecting that you won't have to use it, but you feel much better knowing you have it in case you do need it. Criminals prefer unarmed victims.

Mouse, a gun has no capacity for INTENT. Decent, law-abiding citizens do have the right to defend themselves from violent attackers. Or a group of them. I can appreciate the pacifist mindset, but to me that leads quickly to victimhood.

Even with all the sermons about love and peace that Jesus taught, even Jesus got pissed enough at the money-changers in the temple that he drove them out physically.

Yes... I've seen a P228 with suppressor on a gun forum somewhere... unfortunately I don't remember exactly where. It requires a different barrel, I don't know if it's a Sig Sauer factory part or if it's a custom-made part.

EDIT: found it.

From this thread on this site:

Apparently it uses a "Barsto" aftermarket barrel.

I've seen that movie. The line goes, "I know who you are, and I saw what you did".

Apply for a job with British Intelligence (now there's an oxymoron) - if you get hired, you get the gun and silencer for free!
