Default PG&E and Edison smart meter opt out.
I think I'm going to opt out of the smart meter they installed on my home. I looked at it and it is a three watt output meter. It is about 5 ft away from a bedroom.

SMART METER RADIATION ALERT PG$E, Northern California's Utility Monopoly, recently admitted that each electric smart meter transmits radiation 10's of thousands of times, up to 190,000 times each day. This corrects previous false statements repeated often by utility companies across the country. (Of the 190,000 radiation transmissions, only 6 carry utility information. The remaining 99.9999% of the radiation travels from smart meter to smart meter through homes to maintain the smart meter communication mesh network system and to keep the system always "On and ready" 24 hours per day).

they've installed smart meters here last year, I don't remember an "opt-out" option here though I certainly wouldn't trust 'em, who knows what information about you they harvest with them

PG&E customer opt out date DEADLINE May 1st. 2012

What to do-PG&E’s May 1 smart meter opt-out deadline

CALL PG&E: OPT OUT NOW! 1-866-743-0263

If you have a smart meter: Tell PG&E to remove it!

If you have an analog meter: Tell PG&E you plan to keep your analog meter. When they ask you to agree to the charges tell them, “NO, the fees are arbitrary, punitive, likely illegal, and the fees are being legally contested at the CPUC!” Assert your rights. If they ask you about access to your property, tell them they need to make an appointment.
If you agree to the fees, and if they do charge you, write “paid under protest” on your check, and keep a copy. Or don’t pay.* Don’t just ignore PG&E, either call or write a letter.

You can also send PG&E a certified letter to: Pacific Gas and Electric, PO Box 997315, Sacramento Ca 95899-9900.

you can't opt out......the most you can do is delay it.

once enough houses have turned "green" the few holdouts will be targeted agressively.

They will argue in court ( if you take it that far) its their meter and you can't deny them acess to their property

The smart meter install lady came to the house in October or around that time.

Her- "I'm here to install "your" smart meter."
Me- "I don't want a smart meter."
Her- "The old meter is the property of Edison."
Me- "The meter box is my property and I do not give my consent."
Her- "We're going to keep coming back until it's installed, even if we have to bring the "cops."
Me- "Sounds exciting. Have a nice day."

What was weird is that she was wearing what would best be described as a cloth covered suit of armor along with a helmet and face sheild. I moved out five months later and the meter was never changed out.

You can purchase an orgonite ring that encircles the smart meter. I'm not affiliated with the company.

could always introduce the Smart Meter to Thermite - aluminum powder and iron oxide, aka rust.

the reaction can be started with a Berzomatic torch.

it gives the Smart Meter a Salvador Dali touch.

I called Edison this morning to opt out of the smart meter. They said O.K. In two to four weeks the new meter will be replaced with the old style analog meter. I had to agree to pay the $75.00 cost.

Don't pay the bill. They will disconnect it for free.
