I wouldn't care if I were a millionaire, I would never spend that much on a plant.

There was a vanda on there a couple weeks ago for $5000 opening bid...or you could 'buy it now' for $9000. It supposedly was a vanda with a picotee. Looking at the photo they had posted it appeared to have been photo shopped. The colors just weren't right...a little to intense and bright. If it was true to color then there would have been a color break since the picotee color also appeared in streaks on the petals near the center of bloom. Needless to say it never got a bid. I would never bid on a plant for that much unless I was there to see the plant in person at the time it was in bloom, and it would have to be "SPECTACULAR".

The seller (and this listing) was discussed on another forum I belong to and apparently has a reputation for poor quality/unhealthy plants at high prices and really lousy customer service. I have no personal experience, but would recommend caution.

Thanks Susan.
Was not interested in Phal., but the sellers other items looked extremely interesting (and affordable).

Asiaticgreen has a lot of interesting jewel orchids on their site but the descriptions are of tiny plants!?

yikes! if it were legitimately a flava phal gigantea then I would think someone would already have acquired it. for it to show up on ebay makes me wonder if it is a hybrid like it has been purported that the 'yellow' or flava amboinensis' are... also a lot of money for someone that only has 25 sales reviews on ebay

I had seen the ad for this plant on the orchid mall a little while back, so it's kind of funny to me that so much effort has been made to sell this plant but nobody has stepped up
