they're mostly from before the factory moved from chicago to china in 2003 (you can tell by taking off the top cap and looking at the bottlecap below it. if lava lite is written in red, it's chicago. if it's just a sticker on the cap, china...). there have been lots of quality control issues since the move. i had to take back two china ones because they didn't work!
i'll try to take some photos today of the different series..... |

HA! Dude, totally psychedelic! Takes me back many, many years.
Who'd ever imagine that lava lamps would be one day manufactured in China then sold to nostalgic Americans and not work. Perhaps there will be a recall. I can see the headline now - "Bum Chinese Hippie Lamps Under Recall" - what has the world come to? |
