Do you guys remember a couple of months back, when I bought a Saab 900 for £50 with a blown head gasket? Well anyway, yesterday me and my mate finally got round to stripping the engine to see if the head had warped or cracked. We took it apart to find the head was completely beyond repair. It was a right mess. It still drives quite well - sounds like death though - so I drove it home to its final resting place, my drive.
Over the coming weeks i'll be stripping it almost bare. Thought it might be interesting to put pics up throughout the process.... Here it is yesterday at my mates house after we've come to the conclusion that it's good for scrap. I've already began to take bits of trim off at this point. ![]() ![]() ![]() And this is how it looked to start with... ![]() |

Shame. Apart from the blown head gasket, it looked to be in fairly good nick. Anyway, at least you'll make a bit of money if you're selling parts seperatley (which is what I suppose you're doing if you're stripping the car out).
Anyway, is that a private plate? If it isn't, scrapyards pay £120+ for cars made in 1994 or after. Well, round here they do anyway... |
