Default New Ruger 10/22 Custom Build!
for the past month or so, I started accumulating parts and built up a custom 10/22. For those unaware, this is one of the most popular .22 rimfire rifles you can buy, if not THE most popular.

Started off as this -

Then after..
New stock
New Kidd stainless lightweight barrel (stainless barrel is sleeved into an anodized aluminum tube)
New bolt handle
New guide rod/spring assembly
Bolt was sent out and given a radius, pinned the firing pin, set the headspace, and jeweled the visible edge
New Redfield 3-9x40 scope
and Trigger reworked by yours truly (polished all contact surfaces and stoned the hammer to lighten the pull, probably cut it in half easily)

I was left with this!

was able to shoot it 2 weeks ago before i reworked the trigger, and it shoots less than dime size groups at 50 yards quite easily[thumbup]

(safety looks off in one pic, but it actually wont push any further until after it is cocked, then it snaps to safe)

Looks good... That was my first gun I ever bought. I still have mine but only mods is just a nice synthetic folding stock. I killed a lot of animals with that gun from deer, turkey, squirrels, rabbits, opossum, raccoons, etc...

That's a BEAUTY! [thumbup]

I sold my 10/22 in the fall... hoping to pick up another semi-22 to blast around with... can't beat $10-15 for 550 rounds of ammo at Wal-Mart!

I plan on competing this spring. Everyone races out their guns, need to attract attention and intimidate others with more stock rifles!

And because i like it

If that is a 16" barrel, how does she fire? (More so distance-wise)

Can't be an 18", or my eyes are playing tricks on me.

Love .22's...best darn gun to just play 'round with. (Yes, pun intended)

16.5" barrel, I havent shot it out past 50 yards, i was up deer hunting the end of december and just wanted to sight in the new scope. But at that range, it shot terrific! I'll be going over to a buddys cabin in 2 weeks to do some recreational shooting and be able to put it through its paces more then.

You went deer hunting with a .22 lr?

What's the barrel twist? Were you using this stuff?

It sure is. Not sure what he be loking more at though, the target or his rifle?

But very clean, tight and sexy weapon. Must be a joy to shoot with it.

no no no. should have clarified. I was at my cabin bowhunting, but it was after christmas and i took my .22 with me because my wife just bought the scope, because i have 40 acres, its easy to setup a target and shoot during lunch time

twist i believe is 1:16
