What? There are plenty of stories about high school and drugs. Why are you getting defensive about it? You are the one who asked and I gave you my opinion.

Are you writing this book? If so, you have to be open to criticism of the idea.

im not defensive at all, i dont know where that came from.

and yes, i have been writing down my memories for a while, and i am just wondering if it would be worth my time to pursue anything real out of it.

I probably would have when I was in high school. But now I dont really care about the life and problems of teenagers anymore.

Maybe one day when I have kids, but right now my reading interests lie elsewhere.

Write it man. Have you heard of twilight? That shits catnip for women so try throwing in vampires too. High School Drama + drugs + vampires = cat nip for dumb women = win. Or you could always try to pen a new fast times at ridgemont high.

look at your targeted audience, in your case i´d suggest younger teenagers.
Now, ask yourself this,..
How many young teenagers read books anymore ?

All in all i´d say go 4 it, if you´ve got writing talent and some time on your hands, why not, what´s there to lose.

hardly narcissistic. and apparently people wouldnt be interested in it. it is just an idea i have had for a while and it would be fun to write with a couple of my buddies.

By all means, do it. Worst case is that you'll gain nothing but a lot of experience from it, definitely beats sitting on the couch watching TV. I just don't see how this would have any draw for anyone that isn't from your close circle of friends / relatives etc, but I suppose that will also depend a lot on your writing skills.

But you should ask yourself why you want to write the book. If it's to gain money from selling it - I probably wouldn't bother. If it's to explore writing or yourself and your surrounding, then you only have to gain by doing it.

Not always.
Some mild doses of halucigene type of drugs can unlock/open parts of mind, while being rational. You use your (healthy) mind in an different ange lthan you are customed to do. See or realize things in other persepctive. That does not always mean it is fake or unreal. But the danger to that is that every person reacts different to such drug and the deses vary.

Bad thing is bad trip and or taking too much giving it a different effect..

it just seems like a fun experience, and it would help if someone read it. ill just keep it to myself and give it to my friends on a usb some day.

Ok, ok I get it the dream analogy appears not to have worked. Too literal obviously... Basically, stories about being on drugs (and the keraaazy **** you get up to) are almost always ridiculously dull.
