Default Japanese to UK plug voltage help
I got a nice headset a friend sent me from Japan as gift, but of course it's the wrong plug etc.

Am I right in thinking I need a step-up transformer for it to work? As voltage in Japan is 100v, here in UK it's 230/240v.

I got a basic plug converter but don't want to be pumping 200 odd volts straight into something that can't handle it.

Advise?

Japan is 240 and 110v. You'd have to find out from their website or plug itself.

Yeah you'd need a step-down transformer. Probably something like this.

No Worries

Yeah hz seems good, can't afford a damn transformer right now though so might sell this headset, which would be a shame as it's looking pretty nice.

Dunno if they work? Ones I was looking at cost like £30+

Fancy a look?

edit:

Seen some US ones earlier for about £12 odd though. But only seem to find step down ones pretty cheaper (uk to Japanese)

Would be nice if something like that can work, not sure if it would work though? Would need confirmation before buying though, can't afford to potentially waste money

Accessories
Cord: 1.0m (φ3.5 ⇔ stereo mini stereo φ3.5)
AC Adapter: DC12V 300mA (JEITA)
Rechargeable Ni-MH AAA type × 2

from http://www.audio-technica.co.jp/prod...ath-cl350.html

As long as plug fits, job done.

Look at the power requirements. Remember that W = V*A. Assuming it doesn't draw more than a few hundred milliamps, it should be good. 300mA * 100V = 30W.
