McLaren will be nowhere near Red Bull today, and not in the good direction.

Wonder what the chances are of only completing half the race? That would be a big blow to Red Bull if a track they will dominate on is only offering up half the points.

I'm hoping Button can get up ahead of Alonso today, but I can't see it happening.

Well, it's turned into a lovely day, today, for the postponed qualifying.

Thinking about it. Despite it being a green track after the rain, it should be very good for the race, it's been a while since car's have been able to run in the morning before the race and rubber the track in.

Which top runner is going to qual on hards in Q3?

Could be a good move considering those running on softs look like they will be pitting very early.

Maybe Webber will go for it considering he should still qualify in the top 2 if the times are similar.

Vettel is the faster driver, but as we all know pole position and Red Bull ain't a given race win.

Genius move that from Button

Alonso will still have to get by Kubica now, with Hamilton taking a 5 place grid penalty.

What's most impressive is Hamilton sticking in 3rd despite not having many laps at least (the least of all the drivers) Which put him best of the rest behind the red bulls. Of course he has the +5 penalty now, Kubica did a great lap also.

It was god, but it wasn't that smart doing it on softs. Had he done Q3 on hards he would have been where Button was or better, add the 5 place penatly and he would have been ahead of the other hard tyre runners.

As it is now, he is going to be behind those runners when he pit's to change his softs, losing track position.

Button is in a very good position, and should jump Alonso after the pit stops and should have a big enough lead to maintain it.

He may even jump Webber and Vettel and take the win if they get caught behind slow cars on the hards.

Should be a very interesting start and race!

Still he might not of got 3rd on the hards, maybe 4th/5th and then be in 9th/10th on the grid for the start. But Button was mega fast through S2 with them and I think Lewis would of beat him still on hards. Who else was on hards in the top 10? Button the only one? and Mclaren wanted him on softs again!

I thought Hulkenberg did well again, he don't get much credit but he's a match for Rubens in his first season and shown some impressive speed. A shame for Koby though that he mssed up the chicane as he would of been on for a potential top 8 in quali at his home race. Shucmacher again though despite allways being very strong here out classed by Roseberg.

No one else in the top ten on hards.

And that's my point, Hamilton probably wouldn't have finished 3rd, but he should have repeated Button's effort. The softs are not that much faster, and they are going off very quickly.

Anyway will see how it pans out in the race, but I feel Button got it right, and Hamilton should have been on the same strategy. I feel Webber should have done Q3 on hards as well, he had the speed to maintain 2nd (especially when you remove Hamilton) and be on the ideal tyre.

Problem is Mclaren all season said to drivers softs tyres to go on (when it's dry) so it was just a normal thing for Lewis. While Button many times this year wanted to go on hards despite softs being the better option usually, just this race seems his engineer thought it's worth a shot and let him do.

In previous races it would not have been correct to run Q3 on hards.

It's just the circumstances here are ideal to run hards in Q3 in my opinion, but we will see if I'm right.

Yeah Lewis tends to trust his Engineers a lot, a lot of tactical errors made over the seasons have been things he's been told to do and he's just done them.
