Hopefully the NBN will go full blast. Labour will be good if they just got rid of Conroy.

Even though Conroy has his on agenda with the filter, overall he's reasonably astute for a poli on technical matters. Also for those screaming out that he will kill internet speeds with the filter, this is also a bit far fetched now. As they are not going to be using smart filters which look for key works etc. They will block very specific URLs, and the list isn't that big in comparison to some filters your employees put on to block stuff on a proxy server. This is pretty much the basic form of filtering which any ISP could implement and not have an issue with speed.
With that said obviously any form of Government filter needs a 3rd party to regulate it, and secondly it is in danger of scope creep once in place. So this is what I'm more concerned about.
If you take a look at the ACMA list on wikileaks a lot of the links really do lead to filth on the internet. Yes some are legit adult sites, and some which are political, though the vast majority are sites no one should be visiting.
So anyhow, at the end of the day getting Labor in for the NBN will vastly overshadow any wrong doing the filter will do. If you really need to access a blocked site then there is VPN or proxies, but make no mistake at least for the most part they are websites that will land you in the clink if you want to visit them as the AFP are probably monitoring some of them.
