Default Must Have Apps for the Android
So I just got finished with a huge argument with Bell and ultimately ended up with a new 'Legend' from HTC. Its pretty fantastic, but I need some apps that I should get with it to make it all it can be.

Already a couple of threads on this.

What are you looking for? Bare essential free apps I'd say would be:
File Browser: ES File Explorer
Instant Messenger: Nimbuzz
QR Code scanner/shopping app: ShopSavvy
Movie App: Flixster
Unrar program: AndroZip
Shazam just changed into a paid app, but if you can find an older version get it.

If you're planning to Root, the list grows significantly. If you want a forum, Droidforums.net is the biggest. If you need to take the phone into the shower go with ZipLock bags.

Appmonster - allows you to install apps outside the Android Market
Bubble - use your phone as a level
Speedtest - Test the data speed of the area you are in
Ringdroid - Make ringtones out of any music or soundclip
Folder Organizer - allows you to create sub menus w/ apps

And I'm sure there are many many more I just can't think of right now.

The Flixter app is actually called "Movies" under the marketplace.

As an alternative, I find "Smart Shortcuts" to be much faster in heavily populated folders.

The Flixter app is actually called "Movies" under the marketplace.
*shakes fist*
