Ok, this is a terrible story and it's disgusting a person who happens to be a US soldier did that....but your source is a disgrace and a pitiful excuse for a news site.

Did it occur to you that a freaking Iranian news agency (totalitarian gov.) might have a bias and wish to pin this on the wars in Iraq/Afganastan? and US soldiers in general? They even dug up a file photo of some random girl who was cold and wet to sensationalize it. It's about as sorry an example of a news source as one could get.

a quick look at the frontpage headlines:

Pentagon to make 'immortal organisms' Netanyahu makes every anti-Iran effort in Russia Leader: Israel moving in downward spiral this is my personal favorite:

Iran Asserts Space Ambition Amid US Moon Problem By Sam K. Parks-Kia

The United States may have the muscle power to drive a wedge between the West and Iran, but when it comes to aerospace technology Tehran's future looks brighter.

Having already taken the lead in the Middle East as the first country to acquire space-related technology, Iran set yet another a record in the region and become the first state to send living organisms into outer space on February 3, 2010.
Seriously, tell me the truth....where did you get the link to that site? The only sites I can think of that would link to a freaking Iran propaganda front would be really far out leftwing sites and then Zionist conspiracists/hate sites/ I don't have a problem with the news story in general....it's up on CNN, Fox, ect... but why would you pick that p.o.s. website that clearly traffics in the worst sorts of propaganda, religious zealotry, and hate speech.

also kind of funny, but apparently George Galloway has a show on there. Unbelivable.

Did he do it because she couldn't say the alphabet or was it the trigger that made him snap ?

You can all say how disgusting and how wrong.. But there's more to it than just being crazy.

Yeah, what a complete betrayal. I know this guy is nuts but just the thought of it freaks me out. We can appreciate from people like Christopher Hitchens who have elected to have themselves waterboarded how terrorized and helpless it makes you feel. So the idea of having that done to you by the one person who is supposed to be your primary protector (when you are four) is devastating. This guy may have been trying to teach her the alphabet but has instead ****ed her up for life.

Wait, so the picture isn't of the girl herself (I thought it was a bit odd to show a photo when no media over here would have done so), so what exactly is the point of it?

Oh, I hadn't even read the link here. I assumed it was the same as the one I had read myself... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worl...-alphabet.html

...The Daily Mail so there is more to it than a story cooked up by nutty Iranians to discredit American soldiers or wars in the Middle East. It's a tragic story about a very messed up individual. The Daily Mail's story says he was discovered wandering the streets clad in Kevlar threatening his neighbors.

According to the daily mail, he put her face into a bowl of water; That's not waterboarding, but I guess it gets more attention if you say "Soldier waterboards 4 year old girl" vs "******* abuses his daughter"

You say that like it's a fun thing to have done to you. Either way you look at it his story or the polices he subjected a 4 year old girl he knew was terrified of water to simulated drowning.

Here is one of the original sources. The relevant passage:

Tabor spoke to a Yelm police officer and said that he and his girlfriend had “held her down on the counter and submerged her head into the water three or four times until the water came around her forehead and jawline.” He said that she was face-up when her head was in the water. He wasn't just pushing her face first into a bowl of water. He was pinning her down to the counter while he nearly submerged her into a sink full of water. The whole "waterboarding" label isn't appropriate, but being pinned down and having your head submerged by a screaming ape who beats you regularly is still terrifying. It's too bad the Mail and others have decided to add a political twist to the story.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it isn't a horrible thing to do to someone, especially a 4 year old girl... My point is that they should just tell it like is. The way they tell it makes it seem like it has something to do with the army or the tortures conducted by the government, when in reality the guy is just a piece of **** that needs to be sent to prison for a very long time.

I think the Iranian news agency is more reliable and less sensationalist than the Daily Mail... [rofl]

On a side note... a Turkish family burried their daughter alive because she had a male (boy) friend... so while one doesn't usually rank evil-cretinisms, one has to say in the grand scheme of things, there are some sick individuals.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010...d-alive-turkey

A postmortem examination revealed large amounts of soil in her lungs and stomach, indicating that she had been alive and conscious while being buried. Her body showed no signs of bruising. Imagine that... a 16 year old girl? Sometimes I wish there was a hell for these people to go to.
