For months I've been bitching to everyone that my system feels sluggish. I even went so far as to blame Windows 7 and declare that Vista is faster.

Today, by accident, I launched CPUID. Once opened, I got curious and poked around. Under the 'Memory' tab, I noticed that my memory speed was listed as 105 Mhz. How odd. I thought I had better check this in the BIOS. Reboot. Sure enough, my DDR400 has been in DDR200 mode for the past several months.

This is a sad day to pretend to be an Onion. On the plus side, my system feels pleasantly snappy again! [thumbup]
We for give you. Now overclock that DDR2 to 1000mhz. >.< go do eet!!!

FSB * Multi = CPU speed.
Unless the multiplier was doubled to give the same effective CPU speed.

Changed my mind.

You had a problem that was easy to fix, but you chose to ignore it instead. You accidentally launched a program, one that's not meant for average users to be launched at all even. Then instead of closing it like a good newbie, you decided to 'poke around', despite the sensitive data there. Last but not least, you thought Vista was faster than Windows 7.

GameTrailers ain't good enough. I say you get to spend the rest of your days at Bungle's Home damnit! [cursing]
Ouch! You're strict.

Demote you from an Onion? No. But maybe take away your blue text for a while.
You can take my blue text when you pry this keyboard out of my cold, dead, blue hand!

Hard to imagine considering the multiplier is locked.

Damn, maybe I'm thinking of the memory divider? Guess I'm not worthy now...

Hey don't worry waters. I've made blunders like that too. It's the resolution though that makes you an Onion!

Take my issue for example: Only just fixed it last night. Had most of my computer's SATA-II drives running in IDE mode! Been running that system for 2 years, and only switched them over to AHCI last night! Pain in the ass too considering I am dual booting Vista and XP and had to do some registry tweaking to get the drives to show up properly.

I think we should have a saying here: It's not the idiot you were, but the idiot you are that makes you a true onion!

No, I doubt it. There are 2 possible reasons:

1. God hates you.
2. You touch yourself at night.

Those are the universal answers to all problems. Usually mine stem from a combination of the two, with #2 causing #1.

Running RAM at or below stock speed is reason enough to loose your onion status..

Still at least you are back up and running and full speed.[thumbup]

That brings up a good point...

waters,

What did you set your memory frequency to once you found out?

This will determine your Onion status for sure.

If his response is anything but 11, I will be deeply saddened.

You noticed a problem most people wouldn't have a clue of, then used a program most people have never heard of, looked up figures most people wouldn't understand, realised the error where most would be dumbstruck, then fixed it in a way most people would consider pure magic.

You sir, are an Onion damnit!
That doesn't make him qualified as an onion, that makes him qualified for best buy.
