Just two weeks ago i purchased some fissilable plutonium from Walmarts,
low grade crap tbh,..
Would not advice anyone to do the same, the stuff from the former UDSSR is far better.

that's a nice thing to know...

more..
I kind of knew that, but had forgotton. A lot of the exit signs at my school when I was a kid glowed like that, and I was determined to see what made them work. I managed to get up close to one finally, and was working on taking it apart when I noticed all of the warnings.

I was very young, and was not quite sure what they meant, so I left it alone after that.

Tritium is used in wrist watches as the material that makes them glow in the dark. It's not a big deal at all

The closest encounter I've had with Tritium was in the night sights of the assault rifle issued for me. We were very close for a long time. Not as dangerous as for the dude at the receiving end of the sights.

yeah but if you had dropped that sight and it smashed and you breathed the gas that's in there you would have been ****ed !

on a personal note I would rather be shot than inhale tritium gas !

You inhale tritium gas every day. It's also in food and water. I doubt there is enough in the gun sights to even be dangerous if your body took in all of it, which would be very difficult to do.

You actually need to be exposed to a pretty generous amount of tritium for it to be dangerous.

I can't argue there, my knowledge of gun sights is pretty damned limited.

You're not going to inhale anything like a noticeable quantity to even bother quantifying it, unless you're exposed to it through a related industry.

The smoke detector in the old house I grew up in had a circular disk that had a radioactive sticker on it. I imagine the exit sings were similar. All I know is that smoke detector NEVER needed new batteries... it didn't even take batteries. It was also the scariest smoke detector I've ever heard. Not that cheesy, beeping sound they have now-a-days.

it was probably hard wired power wise, as for the sticker, smoke detectors use americanium as a ionizing source for the ionization chamber that sniffs out smoke

The EXIT signs in my church used to get pretty hot, in fact it was a wonder they didn't start the fire themselves. They have since been all replaced.

Yep, as getting older those emergency lights with their own integrated batteries were fire hazards all by themselves.
