its my dads work pc and i also do not know were else to put this thread so here goes. i reformated the pc, put in more ram, cleaned out the dust etc. however now the sound doesnt work, but XP installs the drivers and everything fine. it plays audio fine in programs such as WMP and itunes but there is no sound. the drivers are installed correctly, nothing is muted and i tried several codec packs with no difference. the ONLY difference is that now on boot up it says 'front panel usb cable no plugged in' but i do not see how this would mess with the sound nor can i even find much info on the error (because everything is plugged in on the mobo anyways)

and yes i tried new speakers and those speakers on my pc :P

so does anyone have ANY idea at alol?
