Some of you may remember a post a few months ago I made about having found dodgy porn on a guys PC. Infact as I recall it sparked a discussion about privacy etc.

Anyway, I've heard through the grape-vine that the guy in question has pleaded guilty in court to possession of child pornography with intent to supply and has been sentenced to 2 years.

Better than nothing, but still can't shake the image I came across.

Great news, but I can't help but think that you didn't choose the most appropriate title

If you're going to keep kiddie porn on your PC...
A) Don't leave it where it can be found
B) Don't take it to someone else to fix it
C) Don't download it in the first place

He's learned an excellent lesson on how not to be an idiot. Now he gets to learn how to make another man smile.

I'm in a similar situation as you. About 9 months ago I found a few keyloggers installed on various PC's in my network. I had just taken over that department so I was going through some of the PCs to see what was on them and to do updates, anti-virus installation, and general clean up. The person who did it ended up confessing after about a month. The state police decided to perform a search of his house and confiscated all of his computers. Not only did they find keyloggers and other hacking tools, they found loads of kiddy porn. He is supposed to be charged soon.

I have seen some of the evidence, but lucky for me the stuff I saw was only nudity and nothing sexually explicit. I really don't know how investigators working in that field can cope with what they see day to day. I do know they have regular counseling they must attend, but I'd never be able to get some of those images out of my head if it were me.

Bingo, for quite some time after the incident I wasn't able to get down and dirty with my girlfriend cause the image kept popping in my head and it would freak me out.

After a while you just push it to the back of you mind and try not to think about it. I was offered councilling by the police after they took the PC away but I refused it. Never did like that sort of thing. Plus it was uncomfortable telling the police about what I'd seen. They made me describe it in graphic detail for my statement and tell them "how it made you feel". something like that you just gotta get over it. especially if it was a picture because there was nothing you could do for the person either. that picture was already done with. sad thing yes but you just gotta get over it. i had a bad experience once with something similar (not quite child pornography) but it made my stomach upset and angry also until i just 'got over it' and just figured i couldnt do anything to help the situation so just kick it to the curb.

at least those guys both got the **** kicked out of them. lets just hope they tell other inmates what they did, heh

Good job you didn't say something like .... "Well it gave me an Erec..... "
Could have ended up really badly after that!

Well sir, at first I was disgusted and enraged... but then I realized it was kinda hot.

I tend to have issues being serious in a serious situation. It would be so hard for me not to say that. My wife works with a man who got it on with a 12 year old. I'm going to be meeting this guy. Its going to be so hard for me not to crack a joke about jailbait or something. I'm a terrible person. The guy is going to hate me by the time the day is over.. in fact.. he won't be able to stand me after the first 5 minutes. But I just can't resist. Its like being a fat man in a room filled with brownies and ice cream... God that sounds good. I wanna go bake brownies tonight.

As for pictures... Eventually if you see enough weird crap it stops really bothering you, because you can't do anything about a photograph. Photographs are like any other inanimate object. No matter how much its bothering you its actually harmless on its own. Its the idiot holding the camera that needs to receive some surprise justice in a parking garage at midnight.

I'll admit tho, the first time I saw lolicon (and loliguro) I was all like "WTF!". I love Japan, but what the hell is wrong with some of those people. But whatever. Their society works. They may have some crazy screwed up fetishes, but at least their sex crime rate is pretty low. That stuff tho.. yeah.. I guess it does take a short bit to get that out of your head. Something that freaky is bound to leave an impression. Eventually though you can just sorta tune it out, and I guess that's what cops have to do.

This is the same society that has vending machines for "used schoolgirl panties".

Which to my mind is pretty sick and disgusting, But "one mans disgust is another mans thrill", I guess!

To be honest, I couldn't do the work that these Police do, looking at "those" pictures would scar you, Psychologically!

Its lucky I suppose that the OP didn't see more than one picture, In time he'll be able to put it to the back of his mind and hopefully if not forget about it, but to at least maybe its memory will fade.

I've seen some fairly nasty things, not really the horrors of war type thing, but when I was 16 yrs old I saw the bloated corpse of some young kid get floated up onto a local beach and that was pretty nasty and the image stayed with me for quite a few years, but its faded with time.

Not something I'd like to see everyday though, I'd probably never sleep again.

Too bad you are not from the US. That would be worth at least 1 million USD (50GBP) from both the guy (for the possession) and your job (for scheduling you to work that day).
