Now all we need is for BBC-HD to carry it and i will be sorted [thumbup] since all the in house production is now done in HD i can see this being a strong possibility

Alternatively you could get The Chain by Fleetwood Mac

Now if the Beeb can offer Jonathan Woss stupid millions then surely there's a nice kitty tucked away to lure a certain Mr Walker back to the mic for TV.

Oh yeah, f1 in hd will be incredible!!

I think ITV do a really decent job, and I like martin Brundle commentating, James Allen is ok... But anyway, new presenters/commentators are a small price to pay to have uninterrupted and hopefully high definition Formula One [thumbup]

What would be even better is if they can allow people to switch between different in car views during a race. It's not someone new, as they already do something similar during Wimbledon.

Anyway, just because F1 is switching channels, it doesn't mean the commentators will change. They stayed pretty much the same when they switched from BBC to ITV.

But hopefully there will be a Top Gear special to celebrate the event. [thumbup]

So do I. I think I'll miss the current team if they don't transfer over; but I suppose I'lll get used to whoever forms the new team.

Wasn't only Murray Walker who come over to ITV?

I could be wrong, but I thought Brundle came over too.

I don't remember. Wasn't Brundle just coming to the end of his F1 career when ITV won the rights to show it?

F1 without the commercials ?

Ahhhhhhhhhhh! Bliss.

Plus the added bonus of not missing the end of a race due to a commercial break. (like ITV did, and had to show the final 3 laps again, because they are muppets. [thumbdown])

I might start watching it again now. The commercial breaks ruined the atmosphere when it was on ITV. I always felt you might as well just watch the highlights if you didn't get to see the whole thing live.

Brilliant news never been the same since the BBC lost it at the end of 1996 thou ITV coverage of it has been good in general it was the adverts that annoyed me. Funny Sky didn't try to nap it.

Good news for us down here as well as we get the ITV broadcast as well. I am not a great fan of their broadcast I feel you miss out on a lot of the action. Hopefully BBC can do a better job.

i doubt you will see any f1 in HD from the bbc, years ago there used to be a dedicated F1 channel that was expensive but they allowed you to choose what action to watch and which camera angles you wanted, i dont know wether there still around though.

Well seems like the BBC paid OTT for it, £200million and there wasn't even a bidding process not one of the other channels had even been approached

Sounds good to me. I'm a massive F1 fan and hate all the adverts in between the race.

The first thing I thought was BBC-HD too... fingers crossed it will eventually roll out in HD - that'd be awesome!

Many of the races, including the UK one are filmed in HD. I would be very surprised if the BBC don't show at least a few of the races in HD.
