Default Recommend some good ringtone material
I feel like making some new ringtones for my iPhone but I can't think of anything right now that would be better then my current one, the Futurama theme. Can you guys recommend some stuff that would make a great ringtone. The more bizarre or odd the better, the less bass in the clip the better, and it doesn't really work if you can't just take a 20 to 30 second clip and have all the "good" bits in that one area.

I've already got banana phone on there too, what some other crazy stuff like that?

I would rather have odd stuff compared to just *insert recently released song from band*.

I took the "why is the rum gone" part and looped it to make a ringtone.

Trawl through your music, create some short loops. Or many Kraftwerk songs make good ring tones. Just I think 20-30 secs is over doing it if I call some one I hope they'd pick up in a few seconds. Not ring tones but text tones, things like Chewbacca's roar and the duh-duh-duh from Star Trek are good.

What program are you using to make these ringtones? As for the songs with "bass" you do know you can take care of the problem these present by putting the song through a highpass filter to get rid of the levels that cause problems when playing on a phone speaker right? As for songs i'd recomend some of the following.

acdc - back in black
zombie nation (not sure on artist, think it's kernkraft)
theme from "the boondocks" theme
theme from super mario brothers.

I just use Garage Band. I'm sure it has highpass filters but I don't know near enough to begin to mess with stuff like that. I just use it to cut a 30 second clip from the song and play with the levels a little so it isn't clipping.

Well look in there to see about doing a highpass filter. IF you can find one set it at 350 and that should get rid of any ill effects that song with alot of bass would have as a ringtone.

Oh you know what High Pass filters are they're those cheesy ******* things they use in too many dance tracks since they can't actually write a decent tune.
