My friend bought a striker extreme mobo from Micro Direct back in December and finally got round to building his new pc this week only to discover the striker extreme is a POS mobo. He wants to return the striker and get a different mobo but what will happen as its been more than 4 weeks since purchase ?
He fears micro direct will ask him to return it to manufacture but if thats the case will asus let him choose another mobo as he doesnt want another striker ! Whats the best way forward here people ? |

Not a hope, now if it was buggered you might have a case, but just crap? Sell it as briefly used and only two months old but asking to take it back after that length of time is silly even the law says you have 28 days if you buy online for unwanted goods. |

Isn't that only if unused though? It's a cooloff period, not a try before you buy period! you can use the items as you wish, the only real stipulation is that you must return them in a condition which shows they have not been mistreated or used for a purpose other than that which they are intended for. there are exceptions, such as if you got something custom made [obviously], perishable goods [again obviously], and things like music and games which have been opened etc but you're pretty much within your rights to return any other physical item, within those magic 7 days. In fact, just have to let them know intention to cancel within those 7 days, then it's up to them how long it takes after that. in this case, after a couple of months, you can either bullshit a story or hope for goodwill, but they're well within their rights to say you're on your own. |
