Default A new helicopter video.
Here's some crap I've been playing with lately. I am designing and building a large Westland Sea King scale model from scratch which will have a five blade main rotor. To test and solv some problems before I finish the five blade head design I wanted to make a test heli with four blades because I already have blades and stuff I can use on a four blade head.

Here's the first video of the testbed flying with four blades. All my friends died in a terrible paper cut accident so I had to shoot the video on my own by leaving the camera on top of a football goal.

It flies well now afte some experimenting and adjustment. I crashed it pretty badly a few weeks ago but because of the low rpm there wasn't much damage and I repaired it the same night. Making stuff yourself has the advantage that you just make new stuff if you break something.

Blah-blah.

Wow, really low RPMs. 1000-2000?

Very nice. I bought an eSky HoneyBee for my dad, but I have already broken it.

I am no engineer, but it is a remarkably simple but precise machine.

i wouldn't dare to build my own HELI ... i'd be scared of the blades suddenly snapping off and slicing me to peaces. [thumbdown]
