Artists who aren't mega rich and that are properly talented, I will spend the money on, I'd feel shoddy to download their CD's without ever paying for them.
Just so you know, it's the corporations that get rich from CD sales. Artists get the majority of their earnings from concert ticket sales.

Logitech don't make high grade speakers...

That's probably why you don't hear the difference. I have logitech Z-5500 and they are no good for music. You need to have proper HiFi equipment to hear the difference between mp3 and CD. Most noticeable is the treble on the top end turns to mush. You should possibly be able to hear that on logitechs. Throwing anything more than 320kbps at an mp3 doesn't seem to improve the quality, you need to other (better) codecs or just use no compression.

It's not about being anal. You just haven't sat down and listened to better HiFi equipment.
Don't you use those Behringer monitors?.. hardly 'proper' hi-fi to be honest although probably better than Logitech.

i know what your saying. its jsut that 99.9% of people listen to music on normal sony hifi's and its just fine. better than fine in fact. it sounds good. maybe higher quality sounds different, but whether for the better i dunno.

I have logitech Z-5500 and they are no good for music. to say they are no good is a bit dumb really. thats all i meant by being anal. saying anything but £10k worth of speakers is no good.

Yes I do... yes it's not super high end. But it sure kicks the butt out of Logitechs for a flat response while not using any eq.
