thing is area of the uk i am in is not great for this kind of position, but i am really annoyed after what happened today

Ouch, I worked in support as an undergraduate in Bournemouth and I was on 18k...3 years ago. I got a better offer in Geneva so I moved but before I did they offered 21k If I stayed.

I think you should be looking somewhere else
