Seems Britain is pretty weird for that, within the 4 countries of the UK each accent is very obvious (Scottish, Welsh and Irish) Not to rain on your parade but in my country we speak Northern Irish, our accent is very different from the southern accent. The reason i say this is because i hate that even people within the UK cannot accept that we are separate from the south, and you get sick of it.
