I have to say that I watched a little but turned off as soon as the top 15 were selected. Most of the girls in the top 15 weren't that great. I was seriously thinking that the girls either paid or slept with the judges.

Also I have to say that yes they were ok looking but for me to continue to have watched such utter rubbish they have to be hot.

Well jusdging by the top 15 I was under the assumption that it waas not just looks they judged this year... a lot of emphasis was placed on the question reponses and the general personality and prescence of the contestants. Saying that, I don't think the final 15 were rubbish... they were just judged on more than looks.

What makes the event such crud to watch on TV is the frikken advertising, it's sickening the amount they do. Hardly any focus on the girls, which is sad becuase they are often interrupted by an ad of some description.

I feel both joy and sadness for the winners becuase their dreams come true but they are also exposed to a world where they become an advertising commodity... but I suppose they knew what they were in for when they entered. And I guess it is the same with every glamarous life on the outside... beneath the surface it's not what it is cracked up to be.

Good luck to Riyu though... I hope she does well... she came across as a very down to earth person.

I agree with Cubase. The girls are judged on outstanding ability and personality as well. If you w ant to see people judged soley on looks, look at FHM or MAXIM magazine.

They are not lacking anything, but surely they are not oustanding comparing to the other girls, surely you don't call world peace and waving hands as outstanding ability.

I have nothing against the girls, and I didn't mean that they were rubbish I meant that the whole thing was rubbish. As for abilities, well they may well be talented but all they have to be is hot. If I wanted an intellectual, talent or personality I sure wouldn't be watching a beauty pageant...
