Default GET PLANET EARTH!!!!
I know this isnt a game, but for those who have a HD DVD player or Bluray GET THIS. Well worth the money. Probably the best mastered best looking HD movie so far. I got it on Blu Ray for the PS3 and my jaw hit the floor. It is almost all recorded in HD and looks amazing, and it is one of the best BBC , Discovery Channel presentations ever. And it is 4 Blu Ray disks, over 500 hours.

Yeah I got some really nice 720p x264 versions, I can only imagine a 1080p version.

Some of the scenes are just amazing, like the flocks of birds.

I wish I had an HD-DVD/Blu-Ray player. That sounds like an awesome movie.

Thanks for that, I'd managed to miss the series on TV, watching a few of the clips has convinced me to pick this up on HD DVD asap!

500 hours?

I watched the whole series on Sky HD, and it does look stunning. I'd imagine Blu Ray looks even better.

500 hours wow they've really got this compression thing down. I assume you meant 50 hours? I was actually thinking about getting this series on HD-DVD the other day it is a little pricey but going by what you've said I think I should go ahead and get it.

There's only 11 episodes, so I assume he meant 500 minutes.

I have the DVD series myself and it's an amazing program to watch. David Attenborough IS the voice of nature programs.

I can't imagine watching Planet Earth with Sigourney Weaver doing the VO.

Having watched the entire series in HD, i also recommend anyone with a Bluray or HD-DVD player to pick it up! I will be doing the same when i have one. It's the same transfer on both Bluray and HD-DVD so either way you are getting the same quality.

Sorry I meant 500 min. It was late when I posted it last night hehe. I actually think it looks better than the broadcast version as there is no compression. Also for those not wanting sigourney weaver narrirating, the version out has the BBC narrirator so you dont have to worry about her. [thumbup]

I didnt mind Sigourney doing it, but it just seemed weird hearing her talking so long without mentioning planet LV426 or a colony, or aliens.

Yeah its pretty impressive I have a whole episode recorded from the BBC HD trial unfortunately the codecs don't give to good a picture quality and don't give me full frame rates.

Does anyone know if you can actually buy it on HD disk in the UK I heard so far its only the US.
