What does this little bit mean...

From the Formula One web site –

http://www.formula1.com/news/5729.html

I understand that Bridgestone needs to put some kind of marking on the tires so media and viewers can tell the difference while the race is running but what’s up with the little bit saying that the driver must use each compound? Does this mean there will be a softer compound for cars that are better setup for soft tires and maybe a harder compound for cars that seem to burn up the tires faster and needs a longer lasting compound and every team will be FORCED to use at least one set of each during the race? This is the first time I’ve heard anything about forcing teams to use both options of tire compounds. I thought it was just moving to one manufacture with multiple compounds with the teams having the options to pick which one they want to use.
I think (maybe?) this rule is the same type of tire offerings they use in CART. You have the regular compound (hard) and the red compound (soft). During qualifying and the race you use both.

I still like F1 but it's broken right now. Nascar seems to give the fans something far more exciting. (IMO)
Pretty much that's it. There will be Hard and Softer compound tyres that MUST be used in the race, so that will guarantee more pitstops as most teams will start probably on the Hards while the track is still "Green" (clean with no rubber laid down). Once the track is no longer "Green" then the teams will come in for a stint on the 'softs' and then wear them out at high speeds, and finally come in for the remainder of the race on 'Hards' again.

Hopefully, this should mean that there will no longer be a boring middle stint as there recently has.

BTW, Hondas' new car (Livery) is different to say the least..

Only about a week to go... [thumbup]

What? Let me explain it to you in layman terms, as you seem to have trouble understanding and think you are smart by posting cocky, irrelevant comments. [rofl]

Ayrton Senna died due to a safety overview, he was the greatest driver of all time. The repercussions of this was the sport went over the top for safety. This included removing slicks ( which is the main reason for less overtaking ) downgraded engines and less speed. I have no problem with making the cars physically safer ( the shell that protects the driver in a crash etc ) But when you start removing the danger and excitement out of the sport, it becomes boring.

The fact of the matter is if you have no overtaking, F1 is utterly pointless. I remember when tyre changes were of vital importance in terms of speed. It was exciting as you were waiting to see who would make it out of the pits first.
No I posted my comment because that's exactly the same bloody comment made everytime an F1 thread comes.

WE GET IT! If F1 is so boring now ignore F1 threads. As for the rest of us who don't have rose tinted glasses on, this year is going to be damn interesting.
