Default Has anyone else found the free hosting with hostingrails a little unreliable
I was trying to show a client a very rough template of a website for them and yesterday around 3:30pm-ish (UK) it was unavailable, I've just been trying to update part of the site, just tried to check it and it's giving me Problem loading page errors again!

Can't access http://allenofmn.com either.

you're right. www.lavamancer.com is down too. Wasn't expecting much from it though. That's why I have dangerpig.com

I wonder if this was Dream Hosts ploy? Cos I'm now considering going back to them and paying for a years hosting. I now need somewhere the supports PHP and MySQL.

I'm not sure I'd be using a free web hosting company if I were trying to show clients stuff, or dealing with them at all. The term "you get what you pay for" springs instantly to mind ;o)

Well it was just a way of showing them a rough template so I didn't physically have to give it to them on a pen drive. They already have a domain and a host which they want to use.

Mine has been down once, and it was a dns problem or something. Because if i took away the www. bit and just had http:// it worked.

I emailed them and they fixed it and kept me updated via email for the whole 15 mins it was down [shocked]

For free hosting I use www.netfast.org.

The servers are pretty slow, but it's free with FTP access, php & mysql.

maybe if we go back using dial up, those servers wouldn't be as slow.
