Default When you get a faulty item from amazon uk, who do you return the item to?
I've bought a fair deal of stuff and have never got a faulty item but the other day I purchased a Toshiba SD360E and it works but the RGB SCART outputs only the red component. After a bit of testing (using other SCART cables and other RGB SCART devices) I am certain that the player's SCART socket is flaky.

My question, as the title says, do I contact amazon or toshiba(haven't registered the product due to the fault)? If amazon, has anyone done this before? Anything I should know (like hidden charges)? I just want to get this swapped before X'mas.

Although new enough to get Amazon involved they probably aren't geared up for returns - sure they will help you best they can, Amazon are one of the best companies out there as far as CS goes.
However in your case I'd be extremely tempted to go straight to Toshiba.

This isn't specific to Amazon, but the way I deal with my returns is that if it is within 30 days of purchase, I contact the vendor or store (Amazon) that i purchased the item from.

Beyond that, I contact the manufacturer, which in your case is Toshiba.

So you say you bought it the other day - try Amazon first.

Hope you get it sorted quickly mate

In the UK your contract is with who ever you purchased the item off, in this case Amazon, and that's who you should contact.

True, I just hope the box hasn't been trashed; I can't find it (I gave this as a gift). So long as that won't pose an issue, thanks for the info Dirk and Bungle.

Also Scoss, how did you return the Logitechs after 14 months? What did you tell them? Also I'm not looking for a refund...I see no reason to, unless there's a reason I should try to? I just want to get a replacement unit.

EDIT: Found the box, guess I'll verify with amazon first then get the thing swapped.
