You said the post was "badly worded." That is incorrect. "Poorly worded" is the proper diction.

The irony of the situation lies in the fact that your post points out the imporper wording of others' posts while your own post is worded improperly.
Nothing else to say.

Unlike you, I am not going around telling everyone that their posts are poorly worded. I was just point out the irony that here you are, unable to properly word a post, yet you are going around telling everyone else that their posts are wrong. Has nothing to do with my spelling/wording of posts.

I had a long post typed out for you, just to try and help you with basic English. Accidently deleted most of it and can't be bothered to re-type it, so I'll just settle for '**** off' I think.

You sure you understand this irony thing? It's not what Alanis Morissette thinks it is you know..
In fairness to the retard (morissette) paying for a free ride is slightly ironic. every other example in here song is just plain stupidity or misfortune, not irony unless you believe the universe is actually out to get you, and thats still doesnt even apply to all them

If it is anything like where I live, 0. They all have them on the mailbox, street corner, and possibly the side of the house.

Does anyone actually live on a street where the house numbers are consecutive? Around here they go up by 4 or 6 with each house.
Why wouldn't they be consecutive?

No wonder your house numbers in the US end up going in to the thousands.[rofl]

Yeah, it would have helped if I had wrote "two" instead of "to", bugger, oh well... I'm not spending anymore time on this.

If he would look across the street, even numbers are on one side of the street, and odd are on the other. This is so that if you are looking for 1286 Corner Lane, you know which side of the road to look on.

Yeah, that's the way it works here, but he said houses skip four numbers at a time.

Some of u should go outside once in awhile and meet the three dimensional people. [rolleyes]

I was expecting so much more from this thread.... [ban]
Like what exactly? the meaning of life? how to work out trigonometry? .... what if Santa is real? [rolleyes]

Why are American house numbers always so ridiculously high? Surely there can't be 8000 houses in his street?

well my street is the 1900 block of high gate. so all our numbers are 1900 - 19xx... however many houses are on the street. the street next to me is 1800 block of high gate so all their numbers are 1800 - 18xx... and so on and so on...

Addresses here are by number and street name. IE - 2246 Washington Avenue would mean that the house is located on the block of 22nd street and Washington Ave. Other house numbers are just kind of random/crazy, like mine, 8201 does not correspond to 82nd street.

This is similar to what I learnt in maths this year -
The way to think about it is how many numbers do not contain the digit 9
say the numbers of the house is from 0 to 99 (as shifting from 1 to 100 down to 0 to 99 does not add/subtract to the number of 9s)

Code them like this, ##. e.g. Number 8 will be written as 08
First and Second Digit can contain 0,1....8
by multiplication principle you have 9 * 9 = 81 possible numbers which do not contain the digit 9
Thus : 100 - 81 = 19

I should stop thinking about study, holiday started weeks ago
